Fees for notarial services

The following fees apply to services provided to commercial clients. Charges for private client work (non-commercial) are available on request.

1. Notarial services

These are charged at £75 for the first document or notarial act and £50 for each subsequent one completed at the same time.

2. Obtaining Apostilles

There are two methods:

2.1. Postal application to Milton Keynes. Special Delivery costs in the region of £12 and incurs a handling charge of £15 per document. Allow up to 5 working days.

2.2. Instruction of an accredited Notarial Agent. (Apostille obtained next working day in London.) This incurs a fee of £100 for the first document and £15 for each subsequent document completed at the same time.

The fee payable to the FCO for the ’Apostille’ is £30 per document for method 1 above and £75 for method 2.

3. Preparation of documentation

Preparation of documents is charged at the rate of £125 per document (for example the production of a full notarial certificate.)

4. Input into an existing document

Where input into a document is required, whether it is pre-prepared or held on the notary system, there is a charge of £100. (For example, this applies to the preparation of a full Notarial Certificate.)

5. Out of office visits/out of office hours

Visits made outside office hours or at the week-end or bank holidays incur a charge of £150 and reimbursement of travel costs.

6. Sourcing of documents

Where a document has to be obtained, eg a Companies House Certificate, there is a charge of £50 plus any charge made by the organisation issuing the document.

7. Postal and Courier services

Posting in the UK can be arranged, using Special Delivery. This costs £12 per letter.

For posting abroad, one of two services are used; Internationally Signed For, which costs £5 or Airsure, which costs £12. A handling fee is charged of £15 per letter.

Courier services can also be arranged where necessary. The cost of the courier is invoiced, plus a handling charge of £30 per package.

8. Obtaining Consular Stamps

The cost of the actual consular stamps varies, depending on the Consulate. To cover agents’ costs, £90 is charged for each consular visit for the first document and £10 for each subsequent document presented at the same time. Two consular visits are usually required per transaction.

9. Scanning documents before dispatch

Scanning is £10 per document.

10. Disbursements

Disbursements are usually incurred on behalf of clients and then invoiced accordingly, but on occasion pre-payment is required, e.g. documents for the UAE where the stamps are £400 each.

11. Services over and above the ‘notarial’

If there is a material amount of work over and above the normal notarial service, a charge is made for “input into transaction”. This is based on £250 + vat per hour.

12. Terms of Payment

All invoices are payable on presentation.
